Terms of service
Last updated 12 August 2026
What this is
Where's My Bus Ireland is an independent project for viewing and reporting on public transport in Ireland. It is not an official service of, and is not affiliated with, the National Transport Authority, Transport for Ireland, Dublin Bus, Go-Ahead Ireland, Iarnród Éireann or Luas.
These terms apply when you use the app or website. Creating an account confirms that you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not create an account or use account/reporting features.
Transport information
Live positions, arrival times, stop details and journey plans use public NTA data and may include estimates. Vehicle positions between updates and journey durations are approximations. The journey planner may not find every valid journey or transfer. Information can be delayed, incomplete or wrong and should not be your only source for time-critical or safety-critical travel decisions.
Accounts
Account and reporting features are for people aged 16 or over. Give an accurate email address, keep login details secure and notify support if you believe the account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless it results from a failure for which the service is legally responsible.
Reports and public quotation
Submit reports honestly and based on your experience. Do not include content that is knowingly false, unlawful, threatening, abusive or defamatory, or unnecessary information that identifies a driver, passenger or other private person. Do not use this service for an emergency; contact the appropriate emergency service or transport operator instead.
Complete reports and written answers are private to your account and authorised administration. Aggregate counts and limited current-trip issue markers may be shown to other users without your account identity or written answers, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
If you enable “Optional public quotation”, you give Where's My Bus Ireland a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to review, shorten, remove identifying details from and display excerpts from that report's written answers on its app or website. The switch is off by default. You can withdraw permission from the saved report; future use will stop and quotations under the service's control will be removed. Withdrawal does not make earlier permitted processing unlawful.
You keep ownership of content you submit. You must have the right to submit it. There is no promise that a report or permitted quotation will be reviewed, published, sent to an operator or produce a response.
Emailing operators
“Write me an email” prepares a draft for a transport operator or the NTA in your email service. You choose whether to send it and should check the recipient and contents first. The recipient's own terms and privacy policy apply after you send it.
Acceptable use
Do not disrupt, overload, probe or bypass the app or its security; access another person's account or reports; submit automated spam; impersonate someone; or use the service unlawfully. Do not scrape or bulk-extract the app's infrastructure. This does not restrict rights you may have to obtain open transport data from its original source.
Availability and changes
The service may be changed, interrupted or withdrawn, including to fix faults, protect security, comply with law or respond to changes in third-party data/services. Reasonable notice will be given for a material planned withdrawal where practical.
Intellectual property and data sources
The app's original software, design and branding remain protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Transport data remains subject to its source licence and attribution. These terms do not transfer ownership of third-party maps, data or branding.
No warranty and liability
The service is provided without a promise that it will always be available, accurate or suitable for a particular journey. To the extent permitted by law, there is no liability for indirect or unforeseeable loss, business loss, or loss caused by inaccurate or unavailable third-party transport data.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, breach of statutory consumer rights, or any liability that Irish law does not allow to be excluded or limited.
Ending an account
You can stop using the service at any time and delete your account from Settings. Access may be restricted or ended where reasonably necessary for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, unlawful activity, security risk or legal requirement. Where appropriate, you will be told why and given an opportunity to contact support.
Changes to these terms
Updated terms and their effective date will be posted here. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or by email where reasonably possible before they take effect. If you do not accept a material change, you may stop using the service and delete your account.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Irish law. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, this does not remove mandatory protections or court rights available under the law that applies to you.
